Liz began working and training with us back in Sept 2021, she is very focused on becoming a fully trained stylist. She grew up in Auckland, youngest of 5 and found a passion for hair after being designated the family barber. She loves being a part of our team's positive energy and the meaningful connections that are made through our work. She has a huge drive and her determination shines as she is picking up the skills extremely quickly, flying through her in house and NZ HITO training … But it's not all about hair she is a keen reader, preferring the classics like Dickins, playing sports, attending church and baking yummy Gluten Free treats.

To make a difference you gotta walk the talk. We like to walk alongside lots of different charities but here are a special few we’re extra passionate about.
We live in a very safe country … but so many don’t. You can never be grateful enough for our infrastructure or to be living in a peaceful community. We believe in organizations like World Vision.. where you give so little and yet make a huge change for someone else’s future. This is Twabi he has been our sponsor child since 2012 when he was 6 years old, he lives in Uganda. Our contribution means he has an education, his village now has clean water which he can follow his passion, football. We receive a letter from him every year and it's heartwarming to see how he grows. If you can help a child make their prospects greater … why wouldn’t you.
We have been lucky enough to go to Ronald McDonald House every month and bring some joy to broken hearts for many years now. Yes, covid has put a hold on it, we can't wait to be able to bring the joy of a great haircut to those under the stress of having an unwell child…unbearable. Our empathy is real and if we can lighten the load for just a few moments and give these families a fresh, new Do to be excited about, we're there!
We are big Cat and Dog lovers and Soi Dog is passionate about ending the trading of these wonderful fluffers for meat in Asia. They rescue animals born or captured for their meat as well as any sick and abandoned animals. These lovely people and volunteers nurse them back to love and health and then they go up for adoption and are flown all over the world. Sadly here in NZ we are unable to make these guys our new family members because of rabies and other diseases that would have a huge impact on our environment. So we make monthly donations to help with all the costs so they can keep doing great work.
We have alot of animals here in NZ that require adoption, care and justice. The NZ SPCA have been there for them for 150yrs. They work to change the laws for better outcomes, prosecute acts of cruelty, educate the public, rehabilitate and find caring homes for cats and dogs, sheep, horses, rabbits, pigs … you name it. That kind of effort is tough but meaningful and we donate so they can keep moving forward.
This is an international organization that makes a huge difference by pushing locally led initiatives. Children around the world suffer for a plethora of different reasons and FFEC is there working to create laws to protect children from abuse, to give at risk children a healthy and safe alternative home and to provide aid and essentials for those fleeing The Ukraine. That's just a few of what they are working towards and we happily donate to keep them going

Allow 60 minutes for a cut appointment and between 2-3 hours for a colour service. If you are having a creative colour service or transformation it will take longer. We prefer to book these services with a consultation prior to your appointment.
You can find our full price list here.
All prices are from, based on regular hair length and thickness. If you would like a true quote for your hair please come and see us for a consultation.
Please do!! Hairdressers tend to be very visual people so images are a great tool to start the conversation about your hair wants. Pictures of things you like insure were all on the same page and spark a thorough discussion about suitability, hair texture, face shape, maintenance, skin tone… and helps both parties feel relaxed about the direction chosen. If you're looking for inspiration may we suggest Pinterest.
You can give us a call or email, we are more than happy to help. You’re also welcome to book in for a complimentary consultation to chat about possibilities before making your appointment.
No need to have perfectly clean hair, we shampoo before a cut and a little bit lived in works well for most colour services. In fact if you are having an on scalp colour, especially a bleach your natural oils will work wonderfully to protect and desensitize your scalp.
However if your hair is in major need of a wash or you use “touch up” products between colours shampooing the night prior is recommended.Hair up please arrive with clean dry hair we recommend washing the day before.
All of our pricing includes a blow dry finish.
We use Keune which is cruelty free and most of the products are also vegan with the exemption of bee’s wax in some products. If you prefer us to use exclusively vegan products on you, fabulous… just let us know.
When you book a service with a Colourist , they will consult and apply your colour. Our fantastic team of assistants will help with toners and blow drys but always with the Colourist/ Stylists guidance.
The choice to colour your hair during your pregnancy is a personal one. If you're hesitant we do have alternatives for on-scalp tint that contain no ammonia. If your colour service is foils or balayage this is done without the product touching the scalp. You can discuss all the possibilities with your Colourist.
If you have ever experienced a reaction - From annoying itch to full blown reaction ...we want to know about it. We can perform a 48hr patch test to see if the product is safe for you.
Colour resistance can come from many different sources. Hormonal changes, Build up from Chlorine, Hard water, silicon, medication esp bloodliners and antidepressants, using henna. If any of these things may be applicable to you it is very important to let us know. It can make all the difference in the outcome. We can perform a patch test or strand test so we both know what we are dealing with.
For these services we must see you in the salon for a consultation and there we can assess what is needed to achieve your desired hair colour. Consults take about 15mins and there is no charge just call us and we will book you in. Please be aware you may need to pay a deposit to secure your appointment.
We ask that you rethink wearing your expensive or brandspanking outfit. While we take every measure to insure clean application andremoval… it is colour, people like to move about and its best you consider this.
